Enlisted 7 Custom Baits was born from a simple idea: if you're going to lose fishing lures, you might as well learn to make your own.

After 23 years of military service, Matt began making his own tackle while still serving. What started as a way to replace expensive baits quickly became something much bigger—a passion for creating custom tackle that anglers can't simply find on a store shelf.

​

Today, Enlisted 7 Custom Baits creates custom-painted hard baits, topwaters, jigs, and other handcrafted tackle with an emphasis on quality, uniqueness, and attention to detail.

Every bait gets personal attention from start to finish. Matt's goal isn't simply to paint another lure. It's to create something that catches an angler's eye, gives them confidence on the water, and feels like something that's truly theirs.

That philosophy comes from his own experience as an angler. He knows the confidence that comes from throwing something different—something nobody else on the lake has—and he believes that confidence can make a difference in how you fish.

But Enlisted 7 is about more than making tackle. Matt believes strongly in the custom tackle community and the idea that makers don't have to compete by keeping secrets. Sharing knowledge, helping other builders, encouraging new anglers, and passing skills down to the next generation are all part of what makes the fishing community stronger.
